Here at Merry Melody Music Academy, we aim to make music a lifelong enjoyment for students through music education that focuses on individualization while balancing fun and progress.
Individualization - Every student is unique in their interest, ability and learning style. We believe the matching of personalities and teaching styles between instructors and students is very crucial to a student’s success. All incoming students get a free trial lesson where they go through a thorough assessment uniquely designed by Merry Melody Music Academy in order to be matched with the most compatible teacher. Our structured lesson plan will also adjust to each individual student to best suit their needs.
Fun - Playing music that students like and know is one of the most rewarding experiences for them. At the same time, it is never fun to play something that is too overwhelming and challenging. As one of the key components of our unique lesson plan, students will get to play music that is relevant to them and personalized to their level of playing.
Progress - A big part of the enjoyment from learning music is the important sense of self- fulfillment. While making progress is crucial, it is just as important each student learns at his or her own pace as every student is unique. We also believe students learn best with positive encouragement. As tools to attain and affirm progress, we provide different goals such as recitals, examination programs and competition programs to suit each student’s individual needs.
Becoming a Lifelong Musician - It is our ultimate goal that students establish a solid musical foundation so that they have the ability to learn and play music on their own even after their lessons end. On top of learning music that they know or like, students will be learning important fundamentals such as technical exercises, music-reading and theory as part of their lessons so that they could have the skills necessary to carry on and learn and enjoy music for the rest of their lives.
